For the month of October we take a look at the newest project from the Nation’s Number One Quartet Group – Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC’s. This is the group’s sixth recording and their fifth live (non-studio) recording. The new project which was recorded on June 2, 2007 is titled So Much To Be Thankful For.

We previously wrote about the concert. To aid in your appreciation for this CD, we encourage you to take a look at that review. And, last month we reviewed the video of this project. So, it may seem that there is a significant amount of time being spent on this project.

Well, the project is one of the best gospel quartet CD released this year. It is vintage Lee Williams. And, the project is worthy of all of the accolades and attention in has (and will) receive.

The guys are at their best on this project. There are 11 selections on this CD. The songs are "He Laid His Hand On Me,” “So Much To Be Thankful For,” “Have Your Own Way,” “Jesus Is Waiting,” “Come See About Me,” “Oh, I Want To See Him,” “So Much Trouble,” “Thank You For Blessing Me,” “For Me,” “In My New Home,” and “I Found Everything.”

This release by the QC’s is certainly representative of their signature style. In other words you get the same kind of freshness and uniqueness in this project that was present in Love Will Go All The Way.

In terms of songs, It is difficult to point to any one particular song that anchors this project. This project offers a little something for all types of music listeners. For those looking for that sermon in song from Lee just listen to "So Much To Be Thankful For." Patrick Hollis and Leonard Shumpert each sing lead on at least 2 songs. Patrick shares lead duties with Lee on "I Found Everything."

There are two (2) previously recorded songs on this project from other recordings of the group. "Have Your Own Way" can also be found on the Right On Time project. "Jesus Is Waiting" can also be found on the Right On Time project.

In terms of sound this recording is very tight both instrumentally and vocally. This CD provides you with everything you would expect from the QC’s. There are great songs with solid biblical messages. Lee sings, sings, and sings. Al and the guys provide the instrumentation and background vocals that confirm they are one of the best group of musicians in the industry.

You will find that the production is excellent. The vocals are very clear. In other words, this is an outstanding CD.

Fans of Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC’s and those that must like good gospel music will not be disappointed with this CD.
