The Turner Brothers

A Family That Prays Together Stays Together LIVE

We begin this year with a review of The Turner BrothersA Family That Prays Together Stays Together LIVE.  Many may not have heard of this group.  Well, it is very likely that once their video begins to air, as it rightfully deserves to be, on gospel music television programs around the country, they will become a household name.  The Turner Brothers are from Apopka, Florida.

The lineup at the time of the recording consisted of Derrick Turner (Lead Guitar), Bam Turner (lead vocalist), Norris Turner (Bass & Background Vocal), Kemuel K. D. Turner (Background Vocal), Quantary Roberson (Keyboard & Backup Vocal), Jason Thompson (Background Vocal), Gary Chambers II (Background & Drums), Haissen Johnson (Background Vocal and Second Lead Vocal), and David Outing, Jr. (Keyboard).

There are 10 songs on this video.
The Bothers share lead duties throughout the video.  There is a great mixture of ballads, mid-tempo and what may be considered drive songs.  One of the best songs on the recording is "Too Close." This song will really minister to you.  The track "A Family That Prays Together Stays Together" will have you appreciating your family.  These two tracks alone are worth the price of the video.  In addition young K. D. (who was 7 years old as of the time of the recording) gives an excellent rendition of “I Can Tell The World.”

The energy displayed by the group, we believe, will make it difficult for any viewer to stay seated.
The Brothers move from song to song with the level of professionalism you would expect from a seasoned group.  The performance of all of the songs is powerful.

The venue appears to be small.  However, it was just the right size for the number of persons attending the services.  The stage is not crowded.  Therefore, you are able to focus on the singers and not be distracted by any unnecessary activity on the stage.

The quality of the sound is good.  There are slight variations in the recording level to some of the songs.  However, it is not enough to diminish the quality of the video.  There are great camera shots. There are many close-ups of the members of the group.

There are no interviews on this video. The project is vintage traditional gospel music. If you are looking for a good video that captures the essence of good gospel music then you will want to add this video to your collection. You will find yourself watching this video over and over.

This is one video that deserves to be in your collection. It is on the Session One Records.  We give the video A Family That Prays Together Stays Together LIVE by
The Turner Brothers an 8.5 out of 10.  To purchase your copy of the video contact The Turner Brothers.  Click on the picture above to view a clip from the video.***
