Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson & The Spiritual Voices have signed a deal with Verity Records.  The sensational New York based group has taken the nation by storm since their first nationally released project "Through The Storm" for World Wide Gospel in 1998.  Since then, the group has earned nominations for Stellar Awards and set high marks on Billboard's Gospel music charts.  The Verity deal will also include the acquisition of Keith's entire catalog from World Wide Gospel. This obviously means there will be a number of re-issues and compilations coming from the Verity camp.  In terms of new recordings, Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson will be apart of the Verity family for his next 6 albums.  Congratulations to the group and let's pray that God's blessings continue to rest on their Ministry.

We have yet another major "Live" recording in the quartet industry to look forward to.  Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites will record their next project in Louisburg North Carolina at the Louisburg College Auditorium. Special guests will be Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC's and Harvey Watkins Jr. of the Canton Spirituals.  This huge event will take place at 6:00 PM sharp.  Let's get ready for this exciting event.  For more information contact Carolyn "Carol" Turner at cturner59@juno.com .

Always managing to present innovative lyrics Ira Tucker brings us “God’s Radar” as the project’s opening song.  Other songs of note include the down home “You Must Be Born Again”, the beautiful ballad “When I Found Jesus Christ”, and the hand clappin’ foot stompin’ “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”.  This project is slated for a Summer release but in the mean time check out a great 5 song clip promo brought to you by Gloryland Gospel. The quiet before the storm is definitely an accurate phrase to explain what's up in the Malaco Records camp.  With very little coming from the Powerhouse Quartet label in months they are primed and ready to release some great gospel music from some of Quartet music's Legendary groups.  Be on the lookout for a mid-July release of the Sensational Nightingales new project "Songs To Edify" featuring  Horace Thompson and the return of former member Darrell Luster. Following that release be on the look out for The new "Live" recording coming from the Pilgrim Jubilees.  The project will be mixed by the 4th week in May and quartet fans can expect a July 2003 release date.  If that's not enough Margaret "Babe" Allison & The Angelics are placing the finishing touches on their new release, the label is in negotiations with the Anointed Jackson Sisters, and Gospel Music Director Jerry Mannery recently preached his initial sermon launching him down the beautiful path of ministry.  Lookout Quartet Industry, Malaco Record is back!!

With 35 years of foot stompin, toe tappin’ experience behind them The Bright Clouds of Rochester, NY are looking forward to the May 2003 release of their new project for First Lite Records “Bless Me”.  After speaking to long time lead vocalist Joe Council we can definitely say that this project is ready to make some major waves in the industry.  Brother Council expressed his sincere desire that the project be a spiritual uplift to all that hear it, and cause lost souls to heed the voice of Christ. While over 13 years have past since the group’s last release, this project will show that with time good things get even better.  The beautiful ballad and title cut “Bless Me” is truly a special song on this project.  Written by Joe Council, it was inspired by Brother Council’s mother who lived through 5 strokes and 6 heart attacks before God called her home at the age of 92.  Other songs of note include the hard drivin’ “I’ve Got Shoes” and the smooth number “I’ve Been Born Again”.  Check back here in the near future for more information about this project or you may e-mail or call First Lite Records at Firstliterecords@yahoo.com & (843) 383-5715.
