For the month of November we visit
Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to take a look at the sophomore project of the
Marble Twins & Company.
For those that are not familiar with the twins, lest just say, once you listen
to this project you will never forget them. For those who do know these guys,
you are aware that they are a hidden treasure in gospel music. And you
know they are serious about ministering to a world that really needs to hear
the Word of God.
The project was actually recorded in 2008 at Olive Branch Missionary Baptist
Church, Antioch, Tennessee. It was not released until 2009. It certainly
meets the goal of delivering the Word. Each song will minister to the
listener. In addition, the project also comes with a companion devotional
featuring 12 outstanding pastors with words (Biblical nuggets) that match the
titled songs on the CD.
It is rare that a gospel CD comes with a warning, but this one does. Fans of
the Marable Twins &
Company will probably
remember their 2004 release titled Songs With A Message Form The Heart.
That was a good project, but the Twins did not want you to think that …Time is
Now was just a continuation of the 2004 release. So you are
forewarned.
WARNING: Don’t compare previous
projects of the Marable Twins & Company with this latest CD release. This
quintessential project is the Marable Twins & Company, like never before.
Perhaps, the passion they breathed into this project comes from their life
lessons - the losses, the gains, the trials, the triumphs. Even the walls at
Olive Brach Missionary Baptist Church seemed different after being sung into a
frenzy during the recording.
Just in case you are not familiar with this group, the members are twins Jerry
and Kerry Marable, Louis Cross and Marc Jones. They are backed up on this
project with some of the best musicians to be found anywhere; such as Chris
Smith, Rojon Garrett and Jeremy Nixon.
The project includes 12 selections of varying length, but none less than 4
minutes. There are many songs of note on this project. The project begins
appropriately with the ushering in of the "Holy Spirit" which is
the title of the first song. This selection really sets the atmosphere
for the remainder of the project. If you really want to hear a soul piercing
message then you must hear this powerful song. Look for this one to also
become a favorite of Praise and Worship teams across the country.
The other songs on this project are “Wait On The Lord,” “Keep
On Trusting,” “Don’t Wait,” “God’s Love Kept Me,”
“Mercy,” “You’ve Been Good To Me,” “We’ve
Decided,” “What A Friend,” “Recommend Jesus the
Remix,” “Give Him The Praise,” and “I Know I’ve
Been Changed.” In this mix you will find upbeat, mid-tempo, and
smooth ballads.
Overall, this project is well rounded. There is not a weak song amongst
the twelve. This is indeed a solid gospel music project. Even the layout of the
songs suggests that a lot of thought was put into this project. For after
ushering in the Holy Spirit on the first track, and realizing that God’s Love
Kept [you], and then deciding to make Jesus your choice, by the time you get
near the end of the project you should be Giving [God] the Praise; and, if you
really listened closely to all the songs and read the companion devotional you
should also be able to say at the end of this project – “I Know I’ve Been
Changed.”
We really like this project and
highly recommend it to you. You will want to add this CD to your collection.

as well as the new CD.
This release from the
Marable Twins & Company is a great gospel quartet
