Promoting Free Admission Gospel Quartet Concerts

“We CARE” Saturday Morning Gospel Broadcast and Promotions is our label.  It is symbolic of what we do and what we are about.  “We CARE” Promotions is a gospel music ministry. Our mission is to preserve and share our Traditional Gospel Music Ministry with others, so that it will remain fruitful and continue to bless our lives as we grow in God’s grace and glory.  Our extended mission is to see that this important segment of our culture continues to thrive in a world that is ever changing.  We work very hard to sponsor and coordinate events that improve the quality of life in the community and surrounding areas where we work and live while we share and preserve our musical heritage.

Gloryland, I think your suggestion to share the concept of Free Admission Concerts is timely and  essential in our quest to keep this great music in the hearts, souls, ears and eyes of the people. As an organization that cares for others we sponsor free song services at least twice a year. Not only is the free concert a ministry for the community, we offer it as concept to strengthen the family. We realize the strength of our community and our people does lie in the family. However, since I am addressing my Gloryland Family, I’ll attempt to approach this topic from a musical point of view. Our music, Quartet Gospel, is without a doubt, the best music in the world.

Quartet music allows us to bring the word of God to the young and the old. The words are clear and the message is strong and to the point. “When Trouble Gets You down, don’t give up”, “I’m Learning to Lean, On Jesus” Fix It Jesus, like you said you would” Dr. Jesus” “Ain’t God a Good God” well, “Come on, Let’s Have a Good Time”. The guitars, keyboards and drumbeat just drive the message deep in your soul. Needless to say, it makes you move, shout, dance, smile and you leave with answers, newfound strength and feeling good. We CARE believes that this form of ministry is and always will be worth sharing. So we do it….and we know God is pleased. How do we know he’s pleased? Because God keeps making away for us to continue and  providing the increase.

We promote/sponsor ticketed gospel concerts. We offer the website and event calendar with quartet music and information to all that want to use it. We fund/support a radio broadcast so this music is heard where we live. We pray, we trust God and he blesses us with the increase and we bless others by sowing back into the ministry and the community. Thus your… Free Admission Concert! Everyone needs to witness this music first hand, so we offer this opportunity to everyone!

Think about it… The free concert generates great excitement and interest, needless to say there’s a ready made crowd that gives the artist plenty of exposure, which helps to keep the music alive and fresh in the hearts of the people. Think of all the people that now have money to purchase CD’s because they didn’t have to pay for tickets. When they play your CD as they ride others in their cars, in their homes etc. They are now promoting you. When it’s good music… their friends, families sometimes even strangers want the CD and they want to see these artist live in concert too. Keep in mind, these are people that have probably never even heard of your group and now they want to sow into your music ministry.

Groups you really need to consider the free concert once or twice a year. It could be in your hometown or on the way home in another state that you need more exposure. People need to see you doing some benefit work on occasion, and not after every dollar you can get every time they see you.  Go into a church sometime and help with the building fundraiser. Charity begins at home. Help erase some of these negative quartet images. Remember if you give, it will be given to you in good measure, pressed down running over shall men give unto you. Make a public showing that you’re not always about money. Find a couple of promoters that have done right by you. Taken a loss, and still made sure you were taken care of, and decide… hey, this year we’re going to bless them back when we come through their city.  Do it cheerfully and see won’t God give back to you, more than you gave. See won’t that promoter be in your corner the next time you come through. It’s called Teamwork. Together Everyone Accomplishes More!

I keep reading about concert attendance being down…The Free Concert is still another way to rebuild concert attendance. I’m telling you, as you give, God will give back to you and Christians will too. It’s a known fact that people are more supportive of those that are quick to help others. When the groups sing, well (notice I said well).  Many of these same people will want to see you again and they’ll do that by attending your concerts when you are in their town. Can you see how this helps the promoter and we all keep quartet Gospel alive and well?

Now, I raise that question, because in 5 years, we’ve had only 1 major group willing to stop through for just rooms on their way back home. But groups I’ll stress again, that you really should get in a place and in the frame of mind that you will work with some of these people that are trying to keep you on the air and in the auditoriums. As I said before, just once or twice a year and you’ll be surprised at the bookings, product sales that will generate from your time investment and sacrifice.

Every year we do a “Singin in the Park”, and we promote it as a showcase opportunity for groups wanting to come to our area. There are always promoters and radio angels there and we make it a point to introduce them to the groups and the public. We offer the Free Concert network opportunity and good business managers and promoters do take advantage of it. Same concept as many of these showcase conventions without the costly registration fees and small enough that you can actually meet, greet and establish contact.

Now, I will address this issue because I hear it a lot.  “Our musicians have to be paid, so we have to get something.”  Well, Free is Free. I am a musician myself so I do understand and the workman is worthy of his hire..  But in hiring musicians inform the musicians, they’ll be one or two times a year that we, “our group” will do a charitable benefit for others or free showcase for the exposure and benefit of this group and just as we are volunteering our services we ask that you volunteer yours on these two occasions. Let them know the dates far in advance and give them the opportunity to vote on which two events  will be in your group’s best interest. Make smart choices. Regardless as to how talented a musician may be, if he’s not willing to be flexible enough for your group to advance, chances are he or she is not the right person for your group.

You have been anointed and appointed to render God’s music. You are blessed.  This is  church… and sometimes you have to go outside your comfort zone and minister to those that can’t or won’t come to the school auditorium or convention center. Sometimes you have to take your message to the rest home, the street revival, the prison, even the ball field, for free! There’s always someone that needs to hear the very same words God has place in your heart to sing and if you deliver his message to some needy soul he will bless you. Don’t use him, allow him to use you. You are his instrument.

Respectfully and humbly submitted,

“We CARE” Saturday Morning Gospel Broadcast and Promotions where we’re standing in the gap to preserve traditional gospel music and you’re invited to join us.

Yes, “Gospel has just gotten better”.
