Rev. Ruben Willingham & The Swanee Quintet's biggest hit song was "Sit Down Servant" (1953). Their first guitarist, William Crawford, is said to have brought the electric guitar to gospel music. R&B superstar James Brown credits the Swanee Quintet as being a major influence on his music. ">
